The mountain-side of Colorado Springs is host to the United States Air Force Academy. Congress authorized creation of the Air Force Academy in 1954, and on April 1, 1954, President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed the bill establishing the U.S. Air Force Academy.
Its grand chapel is an icon that must be visited in person. The history and honor can be felt when passing through the gates of this installation. Young men and women are amazing to watch during drills and exercises.
The Barry Goldwater Visitor Center serves as the gateway to the academy, providing information on its history and cadet life.
