My Colorado

Nested at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, Colorado Springs is home to the Air Force Academy, Garden of the Gods, Broadmoor Hotel, Olympic Training Center, Glen Eyrie Castle and much more.

Colorado Springs was founded in August 1871 by General William Palmer with the intention of creating a high quality resort community, and was soon nicknamed "Little London" because of the many English tourists who came.

Colorado Springs, CO is the second most populous city in the state of Colorado. There were around 645,000 people living in city limits in 2015.The elevation of Colorado Springs is 6,035 feet (or 1840 meters) above the sea level. So drink plenty of water when you first arrive. Colorado Springs is located 65 miles south of Denver; it's about an hour drive along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains.

Money magazine twice ranked Colorado Springs the best place to live in the big city category.

There are a lot of fun places to see and visit in the Colorado Springs Area all year around. You can find the links to many (but sure not all!) different kinds of major Local Attractions on this page.
